3-star hotels in Brussels: a good location without overpaying

Brussels has more than 75 3-star hotels. These 7 are spread across Louise, Anderlecht, and the Midi area, with real prices from €61 a night and reviews from verified guests.

Is this category for you?

A 3★ in Brussels is the best balance between location and price: fewer amenities than a 4★ (no gym or restaurant in several cases), but well located and with breakfast available. If you're staying more than 3-4 nights or traveling with family, compare it with an apartment; if you prefer chain amenities and are traveling for work, check out the 4-star hotels.

Louise — The shopping avenue, elegant and well-connected.
Saint-Gilles — Art nouveau and a young vibe, close to Midi.
Midi — Next to the station, convenient for Eurostar/Thalys.
Anderlecht — The most affordable: worth choosing carefully.
Molenbeek — Across the canal, the lowest prices.

Distances for each neighborhood are measured in a straight line from the Historic Centre (Grand Place) — walking or public transport always takes a little longer.

Buildings and shops along Avenue Louise, Brussels

1. Louise Shopping and elegance

Louise has nearly twice as many 3★ hotels as its size would suggest — more than one in ten in the segment. It's Brussels's main shopping avenue, with good access to downtown on foot or by tram.

The Senne river running through Anderlecht, Brussels

2. Anderlecht The cheapest, choose carefully

It has practically as many 3★ hotels as Louise, also more than its size would suggest. It has the cheapest 3★ hotels in the city, but it's a polarized neighborhood: right next to the two hotels we recommend here (Van Belle and Urban Yard, both well rated) there are others scoring 2.3 to 6.3 out of 10, backed by thousands of reviews — that's not statistical noise. In Anderlecht, it pays to choose carefully, not just grab any cheap hotel.

Tracks and platforms at Brussels-Midi station

3. Near Brussels-Midi Eurostar / Thalys

If you're arriving by high-speed train, a hotel on Avenue Fonsny saves you the first and last transfer. It's less touristy than the historic centre, but very practical for a short stay.

How much a 3-star hotel costs in Brussels

A good 3★ can be had from €61 a night, and most of the good ones run around €85-120. Just like with 4-star hotels, there's no clearly marked season here either: the price moves more with the day of the week than with the month. Weekends tend to be more affordable than weekdays, especially at hotels near office districts.

Frequently asked questions

Why are there two hotels called "B&B HOTEL" in this list if they're hotels, not bed & breakfasts?
B&B HOTEL is a French chain of budget hotels, not a bed & breakfast type of accommodation. The name is confusing, but they're conventional 3-star hotels, with a front desk and breakfast paid separately.
Is Anderlecht worth staying in?
Anderlecht has the cheapest 3-star hotels in the city, but quality varies a lot from one hotel to another: you have to choose carefully. Van Belle and Urban Yard, the two we recommend, are well rated despite the group's lowest location score.
Are Vintage Hotel and Citybox the same hotel?
No, but they're on the same block (Rue Dejoncker 45 and 53, just steps from each other). If one has no availability or doesn't convince you, the other won't change your neighborhood.
