Bed & Breakfast in Brussels: Personal Service and a Real Breakfast

Brussels has more than 25 B&Bs — small houses with a host, not chain hotels. These 6 are spread across the residential belt (Etterbeek, Watermael-Boitsfort, Uccle) and other neighborhoods with their own character, with real prices and reviews from verified guests.

Is this category for you?

A B&B in Brussels is for couples and short trips looking for personal service: few rooms, a host you get to know, breakfast made by that person (not a chain buffet). In exchange, you give up 24-hour reception, and sometimes the pricing calendar only shows up close to the date. If you're traveling in a large group, with unpredictable schedules, or you'd rather not depend on dealing directly with an individual owner, a 4★ hotel might suit you better.

The 3 neighborhoods of the B&Bs

The historic centre also has B&Bs (one of the six is there), but where this format really stands out is in the residential belt: neighborhoods with houses and gardens where there are almost no hotels, and where a local host offers something no chain can.

How much a B&B costs in Brussels

The six range between €120 and €195 a night for a double room. Unlike a chain hotel, here the price doesn't always appear months in advance: the owner loads the calendar closer to the date, so a B&B with "no rate" for 6 months out isn't necessarily full — it just hasn't set a price for that date yet. The closer to your date you book, the more B&Bs you'll find available.

Frequently asked questions

Does a B&B in Brussels have 24-hour reception?
Almost never. These are 2-to-5-room houses with a host, not a hotel: check-in is usually arranged by message or email for a set time window, and at night there may not be anyone physically there. If you need 24-hour reception, a 3★ or 4★ hotel is a safer bet.
Why doesn't a B&B's price show up months in advance the way a hotel's does?
Because the owner loads the calendar by hand, not a chain's booking system. Most only publish a rate 1 to 4 months before the date. It's not that they're fully booked — they simply haven't set a price for that date yet.
Is a B&B worth it if my priority is being close to the Grand Place?
Only one of the six (B&B DRUUM) is in the centre. The other five are in the residential belt (Etterbeek, Watermael-Boitsfort, Uccle) or in Ixelles and Saint-Josse: a good option if you'd rather have quiet and personal service than be steps from the historic core.
