Pet-friendly hotels in Brussels: the 19 that accept dogs and on what conditions

Of the 50 properties we track, 19 accept pets according to the house rules on their listing. Only one (The Hoxton) takes them free of charge; the others charge a supplement or ask you to request it when booking. They are sorted by category, with the room price per night.

Which area is best with a dog?

The European Quarter or Louise: that is where almost all the pet-friendly 4- and 5-star hotels are, and a few blocks away are the Cinquantenaire park, Leopold park and, further south, the Bois de la Cambre, the city's dog-walking spot.

What you will not find: hostels or 2-star hotels that accept pets (none of the ones we track), and very few in the old town (only Novotel City Centre and NH Collection Grand Sablon). If that matters more, look at the hotels near the Grand Place and ask directly.

Supplements, requests and getting around with a dog

Supplement: 13 of the 19 say "charges may apply" and the listing does not publish the amount: ask by message before booking, and confirm how many animals and what size they accept.

On request: The Hotel Brussels, Stanhope, Thon Residence Parnasse, FLATS and the First Floor apartment accept pets only if you ask when booking and the property confirms. Free: The Hoxton, in Saint-Josse, which also provides a dog bed and bowls.

Getting around: on STIB metro, trams and buses dogs travel on a lead and muzzled, or in a bag if small; on Belgian trains they need a reduced-fare ticket. For walks: Cinquantenaire and Leopold park in the European Quarter, the Bois de la Cambre at the end of avenue Louise and Josaphat park in Schaerbeek.
